40.5% of respondents forecast > 50% growth by 2025 for the "digital sales" sector. A further 37.8%sestimate the growth opportunities at 26 - 50%. Only 10.8% of respondents anticipate growth of 11 - 25% and only a fraction of participants expect a lower potential.

Digital sales means providing prospective customers with customised, relevant information digitally and in a matter of seconds. This means using product finders for "information self-service" on the website. The second step is to respond to requests for quotations quickly and attractively. The global sales organisation must be able to offer and sell even complex products that require explanation quickly, correctly and checked for technical feasibility.
Producing companies that implement a customised high mix and low volume strategy with an end-to-end digital process and system landscape will be able to inspire interested parties and customers today and in the future and establish themselves as winners.
